A Message From Our Founder: “How I Got Here”

My journey into healing began with music. I earned my degree in Music Therapy from the University of Dayton and have spent the last 8+ years working in psychiatric care, across inpatient and outpatient settings, with individuals ranging from children to adults.

In those environments, I witnessed the depth of human suffering, and also the deep limitations of traditional, Westernized mental health systems. So often, the body and spirit were left out of the healing process. I began to realize something essential was being overlooked, and I felt a pull to explore alternative pathways to healing.

Alongside this, I’ve spent over 20 + years immersed in movement: through dance, yoga, and embodied exploration. Movement has always been one of my most trusted languages. It offered me a way to process what words could not, grief, rage, joy, longing. Through the discipline and devotion of dance and yoga, I learned how to feel safe in my body again. I learned how to listen to my innate wisdom. I felt a homecoming within my own self.

These practices became instrumental in my own healing, revealing to me that the body holds both our wounds and our wisdom. They awakened my curiosity about energy, the chakras, and somatic intelligence, the unseen layers of who we are.

That curiosity led me to explore sound healing, Reiki, and trauma-informed yoga. I began to understand healing as something multidimensional, something that must include the body, the emotions, the spirit, and the nervous system.

Each path I explored opened the next. Reiki training cracked something open in me, an ancient remembrance. Sound became not just a tool, but a language. My work as a therapist evolved into something more intuitive, integrative, and embodied.

Now, I weave it all together, sound, somatics, movement, energy work, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, to hold space for deep, soul-centered healing. I believe in healing that honors the whole person. That brings us back into rhythm with ourselves.

This is how Embodied Resonance was born. And it’s an honor to walk with others on their return to self.
